Pin and Sockets Manufacturing: These Critical Tests Are Non-Negotiable!

The core components of chargers and data cables—pins and jacks—must pass multiple "test checkpoints" before leaving the factory! Here’s a concise breakdown of the key tests that determine their safety and durability:

1. Electrical Performance Testing: The First Line of Defense for Electrical Safety

1. Insulation Resistance Test: Resistance between pins and housing/among pins must exceed several million ohms to prevent leakage current;

2. Withstand Voltage Test: Pins for 220V household appliances must resist 1500V high voltage for 1 minute to avoid short circuits;

3. Contact Resistance Test: Resistance at the contact point between pins and jacks must be below 50 milliohms to prevent overheating and potential failures.

2. Mechanical Performance Testing: Rigorous Checks for Durability

• Insertion and Extraction Force Test: Machines perform over 5,000 insertion-extraction cycles; insertion force (10-30N) and extraction force (≥5N) must meet standards to avoid loose connections and power outages;

• Mechanical Strength Test: No deformation or breakage when subjected to 10N force (e.g., USB pins can withstand ±45° bending).

3. Environmental Adaptability Testing: For Complex Working Conditions

1. High-Low Temperature Test: Stable performance after exposure to -40℃ (low temperature) and 85℃ (high temperature) for several hours;

2. Humidity and Heat Test: No rust or insulation degradation after 10+ days at 40℃ and 95% humidity;

3. Corrosion Resistance Test: No rust or coating peeling after 48-hour salt spray testing (suitable for outdoor/coastal applications).

4. Specialized Contact Performance Testing: Ensuring Stable Connections

• Vibration Test: Contact resistance remains compliant after hours of vibration (10-500Hz) to avoid intermittent connections;

• Impact Test: No structural damage or contact failure after being struck by a 100g weight dropped from 10cm height.

5. Flame Retardancy Test: Preventing Fire Hazards

When burned with an 850℃ flame for 30 seconds, the sample must self-extinguish within 30 seconds after flame removal, with no drips that could ignite cotton.

When choosing chargers or data cables, check if they have passed these tests for safer use!
